Principal’s Message

With only 4 ½ more weeks left, we have so much to look forward to and accomplish before the last day of school! We have STAAR math tests this week for grades 6, 7, and 8. Our 8th graders are getting ready for the 8th Grade Formal Dance on Friday. Our theatre and choir students have performances going on, and our band is preparing for their end-of-year concert. (Please see the section below for information on upcoming One Act Play and Choir performances this week.) Our Cast 1 One Act Play group performed with great success this past weekend at the Boerne OAP Festival. Here is a photo of the group preparing for their “High School Musical” performance.

Earth Day is today, and our science classes are focusing on some important concepts and lessons. Our 6th graders will be discussing ways to protect our planet and ideas for fostering a sustainable future. In 7th grade, classes experienced a visit last Friday from staff from the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority see photos below). This presentation included a water table that demonstrates watersheds, and students will continue learning about water quality and the effects of pollution. In 8th grade science classes, students will watch a documentary called “The Biggest Little Farm” and discuss the importance of biodiversity.
