Principal’s Message

I hope everyone enjoyed the extended weekend, and the once-in-a-lifetime solar eclipse event!

In the upcoming weeks, our Danforth students will be involved in STAAR testing. Most of our kids are familiar with the annual STAAR testing procedures. Here are a few things for parents to know as we enter into state testing season:

  • Texas Education Agency (TEA) prohibits the use of cell phones, smart watches, Fitbits, iPods, iPads, or any personal electronic devices during testing. Any necessary electronic devices for testing will be provided by the school.
  • On testing day, students taking the test will give their cell phones/personal electronic devices to their testing teachers upon entering the designated testing rooms. All personal devices will be securely stored for the duration of the test and will be returned to each student before he or she leaves the testing room.
  • Our students and staff work hard to prepare for these state tests. We prioritize maintaining optimal testing conditions during testing days, which means keeping interruptions to a minimum. Please take a look at the Danforth testing schedule, below. Thank you for avoiding checking your student out of class before noon on his or her designated testing dates, if at all possible.
  • Please encourage your student to get plenty of rest and a good breakfast before designated testing sessions.

On another note, our wonderful campus secretary/registrar, Jordyn Mere, is now on maternity leave. We wish her and her wonderful family all the best as they welcome the newest addition to the Mere family! While Jordyn is out, Abby Nusbaum–our amazing campus receptionist–will step into the secretary/registrar role. We will have a couple of wonderful and experienced substitutes at our reception desk for the last weeks of the school year, as well. Our goal in the Danforth office is to support and help our students and their families, so please let us know if there’s anything you need as the school year rolls on.

Ms. Bourbonnais, Choir

Congratulations to our 7th & 8th grade choir students for a successful performance at the UIL competition on April 4. They worked hard on sight reading and singing together as a cohesive group!
