Principal’s Message
Our 7th graders take the STAAR today. Later in the spring it will be other grade levels. After everything our students have been through in the past year it will be interesting to see where student scores end up. Interesting....but not education altering. We’re not going to let the results of a standardized test overwhelm our students and cause them to doubt themselves. Most of our students have been working hard this year and we’ve seen progress in many areas. We’ll keep working with all of our studentsto help them get to where they need to be academically........regardless of what their results are on a standardized test.
Thanks for taking a look at the Newsletter.

From Carrie Campbell, Wimberley Rotary Club
The Wimberley Rotary Club is pleased to announce our 4th “Rotary Loves Readers” contest of the school year. This contest asks Danforth students to type or write a few paragraphs about a book or short story that they’ve read that has influenced their life. What was the story about? What lesson or lessons were learned that influenced attitudes or behaviors? Entries are due to the library by the end of the school day on April 16th. Students will receive the above information and more from their English teacher. If students have more questions they can contact the school librarian (Teresa York) for more details. As always, $50 will be awarded for second place and $100 will go to the student with the first place paper.
From Erin Sivils, Attendance Secretary
Parents, I have updated the attendance page on our Danforth website. I encourage you to take a look. It answers many questions about attendance; especially in this new "online attendance" world. It will give you information on when to send a note and what information needs to be included in the note.Even if your child attends in-person, be sure to check out the online attendance criteria for when they are absent or quarantined. What isn't new is the fact that attendance notes are still needed within 3 days of the absence whether you are in-person or online. Attendance laws are still in effect even in this new world of online learning. Bottom line... kids learn best when they are in attendance in-person and "live" in the virtual classroom.
