Principal’s Message
Like everyone else, I am still astonished at what happened last week to Texas and Texans because of the Arctic blast. Of course we are happy to be back at school today but I know we may have some students here who are still reeling from several days of misery. They’ll enjoy seeing friends and the return to a “normal” routine here at school. But they may have to leave this safe, warm building and return to a home that is still devastated by the storms.
Yes –we need to focus on academics because it’s the last week of the six weeks (we moved the end of the six weeks to Friday the 26th). Sure our 7th and 8th grade athletes are thinking about their first track meet of the season this week. Band will be thinking about their UIL Concert and Sight Reading contest on March 2nd. And of course we still need to social distance and wear masks because this pandemic is still not over but........we also need to make sure we meet the basic needs of our students, their families and our staff.
If you, or someone you know, need help with anything at all, please contact us here in the front office and we’ll find the right resources to help wherever it is needed.
Thanks for taking a look at the Newsletter.
