Principal’s Message
Blinded by the Light
For those who drop off students in the front of the building at the beginning of the day, this is a tough time of year.On a clear day around 7:45 am asthe sun is climbing over the trees at the outdoor classroom, those of you in the drop off line are temporarily blinded by the sunlight. And still you make it through safely. I’d like to saythank you to all parents and guardians for thesafe job you are doing in our parking lot no matter what time it is. It hasto be a little frustrating to turn on to Carney Lane and see the school traffic backed all the way up to Dollar General and yet.......each day I see courteousand patient driversslowly workingtheir way up to the Drop off or Pick up area. That morning and afternoon patience pays off as we get our students in and out of the building safely. Students are doing a good job as well in the parking lot but .......they do occasionally step in to the roadway without looking. Thank you for watching out for themand keeping them safe.
I also want to mention the nice job thoseof you who are dropping off itemsat the school are doing. I’m sure you’ve noticed we have a different procedure this year. Items being picked up or dropped off end up in our front foyer on shelves we have placed there. Parents and guardians following our new protocols for placing items have made this a smooth transition for all. Finally if your child is a distance learner and you’re leaving a completed assignment for the teacher, please emailthe teacher to let them know the assignment is there.
Thanks for taking a look at the Newsletter.
