Principal’s Message

The Jr. High District Track Meet takes place in Burnet this Friday and we wish the best to those athletes as they compete for our school.  Another group of Texans competed recently for Danforth and did quite well.  Here is the message I received from their coach, Marie Bernick,

The Wimberley Special Olympics Cycling Team competed this weekend at the Circuit of the Americas. Danforth Athletes Emma and Sawyer both brought home gold in their 1K races. Emma also got gold in the 500 m and Sawyer silver in the 5K. Way to go Texans! Thank you to all the coaches, volunteers, families, and WTX-13 supporters for making this a great season!

It’s sure nice to see our Wimberley students doing well in their activities.

Another student activity this week will be the annual “Dress Like a Pirate Day” for our 7th graders.  This is a Danforth tradition that goes back enough years that somebody reading this may be able to remember doing it when they were here at Danforth.  Pirate Day is tomorrow (Tuesday, April 2nd) for our 7th graders.

From PTO Sponsor Chelle Stevenson

It's time to start allocating PTO money that has been made this year.  So far the PTO has:

-helped pay for new dictionaries for the English classrooms,

-break room supplies

-we've bought lighting and lessons plans for the science department

-helped with breakfast for the 8th grade trip to see a play

-passed out piles of ice cream rewards

-provided funds for pond maintenance to get the pond running for the garden club

There is more I'm forgetting!  Thank you for all that you have done to make our year successful.  Concession donations and your volunteer time have made a huge difference. The PTO also welcomes donations.  If you would like to donate to the PTO, please send a check with your child in an envelope marked for the PTO.  They can drop them in the office.  We also have a PayPal account. Just use our email address:

We are still looking for officers for next year. Please contact me if you would like to join the board.  I can answer any questions you have about the positions.
