JWE Student Recognized by H-E-B "Be a Buddy" Program
May 27, 2020
Jacob's Well Elementary student Sofia Brassow has been selected as a Student Advocate Award winner through the H-E-B "Be a Buddy" program.
The H‑E‑B Buddy League is a program for students that aims to promote diversity and inclusion by inspiring kindness and respect over negative behavior such as teasing, excluding from play, and bullying.
Sofia, who just finished second grade, was nominated by her teacher Traci Biggers for showing "leadership in a quiet manner." Mrs. Biggers also said:
"She is hardworking, eager to learn, and always gives her best. She is a great friend and is my go-to girl when we have students going through a hard time. She includes others and goes out of her way to make other children feel like part of the group. Sofia is a patient and caring classmate."
Sofia received a prize pack from H-E-B this week and was celebrated on a Zoom video call with her classmates. Congratulations Sofia, way to represent Wimberley ISD!
