WHS Soccer Teams Both Advance into 4A Playoffs

Both Wimberley HS soccer teams advanced to the 4A state playoffs and numerous players received awards for their performances during a successful 2023 season. The Lady Texans finished with a record of 19-4-2, with all four of its losses coming against either Boerne or Davenport, each of whom advanced to the Region IV final. WHS finished with an 8-3-1 record in district 26-4A to finish third behind those previously mentioned teams. In the playoffs, the Lady Texans defeated Marble Falls 2-0 and Uvalde 5-1, before falling to Davenport 2-0 in the regional quarterfinals. Recognized for their outstanding play were several members of the Lady Texans squad:

Also honored on the District 26-4A All-District teams were Isabella Franchione and Lilli Sandoval (Second Team) and Sydney Hendon, Selah Jones, and Jordin Donaldson (Honorable Mention). Seniors Izzy Frank, Jones, and Maggie Leonard were also named to the TASCO Academic All-State squad. Also making the Academic All-District team were: Jones, Frank, Franchione, Hendon, Baylee Willis, Donaldson, Sienna Flores, Olivia Hendon, Reagan Olmer, Chloe Row, Lilli Sandoval, Bailey Taylor, and Cameron Thames.
The Lady Texans are led by head coach Eric Nichols and assistant Serena Frank.
