Texan Athletes Receive Academic All-State Honors

Members of the Wimberley High School football and volleyball teams (including trainers) were named to Academic All-State Teams for their classroom efforts. The Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) has released Academic All-State teams for football and volleyball, and the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) released an Academic All-State team for volleyball. The following Texans and Lady Texans were honored:

To be nominated for the THSCA Academic All-State team, a student must be:

  • An athlete, student trainer or manager in good standing with the team
  • Of good moral character
  • A senior
  • Have an overall grade point average of 92 or above (including courses from grades 9-11 and courses completed from grade 12). Weighted GPAs accepted.

To be nominated for the TGCA Academic All-State team, a student must be:

 Nominees must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Be a senior;
  • Have an overall grade point average of 94 or above for grades 9 -- 11;
  • Be a varsity participant or a member of the support staff for that sport in good standing.
  • Be of good moral character.
