Lady Texan Volleyball Team Members Earn 2021 Postseason Honors

Multiple members of the 4A Region IV finalist Wimberley Lady Texan Volleyball team have been recognized with postseason honors. Senior Paige Crawford was named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) 4A All-State team and the Austin American-Statesman All-Central Texas First Team for the second consecutive year and a total of 10 players were named to the all-district team. In addition, Wimberley won two of district superlative awards. The District 28-4A honors are:

District MVP
Paige Crawford, sr. - Second consecutive overall MVP honor, also won Offensive MVP award for sophomore season. Led the team in kills (535), digs (450), aces (53-tie) and was second with 40 blocks. Finishes her career with 1,431 kills, 1,219 digs, and an overall hitting percentage of .259. Has signed to play college volleyball at Wake Forest University.

Defensive MVP
Cameren Davis, sr. - Was second team All-District as junior. Led the team in blocks (53) and aces (53-tie). Second in kills (248).

First Team
Layla Dubuisson, sr. - Was second team All-District as junior. Third on team with 170 kills.
Ellie Marko, sr. - Was second on team in assists with 443.
Jesse Weeks, so. - Led team in assists (707) and was third in aces (51).

Second Team
Maddy Harris, jr. - Fourth on team in kills (162), third in digs (308).
Reese Pirtle, sr. - Third on team with 37 blocks.

Honorable Mention
Payton Helbig, sr. - Fifth on team in digs (181).
Laney Hennessee, fr. - Fifth on team in kills (143) surpassing the number Crawford had her freshman season (138).
Emily Thames, jr. - Second on team in digs (402).

The Lady Texan volleyball team also announced that seniors Mackenzie Ursha, Ellie Marko, Cameren Davis, Layla Dubuisson, Paige Crawford, Nita Fraser (manager), and Alyssa Lowry were recognized for their classroom work by being named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) Academic All-State Team. TGCA awards Academic All-State honors to seniors that: have a grade average of 94 or higher, are in good standing on a varsity team, and have good moral character.

In addition to the state honors, the entirety of the team (players and managers) were named to the District 28-4A Academic All-District team. They are:
