WHS Freshman Jaxon Donaldson Wins State Golf Title
May 19, 2021
Wimberley HS freshman Jaxon Donaldson won the 4A State Golf title over the two-day competition held at Plum Creek Golf Course in Kyle. On day one of the tournament Donaldson shot a 65, just one stroke away from tying the record for lowest day one round in 4A state golf history. Day two's round was interrupted by bad weather, forcing meet directors to suspend all scoring after nine holes for each golfer. Jaxon's total through nine was 36, giving him a two-day total of 101, two strokes ahead of second place finisher Gaven Lane of Argyle.
Donaldson's state title follows up his first place medalist finishes at the District and Regional meets earlier this spring. The Wimberley golf teams are coached by Dane Saucier.
