Junior High Choir Students Make Historic Debut
February 11, 2020, Wimberley, Texas — Danforth Junior High students performed in the Region 18 Honor Choir, a distinction that gives them a historic place at Wimberley ISD.
"It is very exciting that this is the first time in our district's history that WISD students represent us in this very prestigious choir," said Courtney Katzmeyer, Danforth Junior High Choir Director.
"Our expectation is that this will now become a tradition," she added.
The three junior high students, Molly Massey, Autumn Short and Johonna Morgenroth-Pearl represented WISD in the honor choir.
They were selected from an audition pool of about 150 seventh grade students via blind audition. They then worked with about 70 other students from across Region 18 to prepare and perfect three treble choir songs and one mixed choir song under the direction of prestigious guest clinicians, Colton Blake and Clinton Hardy.
