The document that was developed by a WISD task force made up of WISD parents, staff, and community members. The handbook follows recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Texas Education Agency (TEA), and state and local health officials.
The handbook outlines procedures for on-campus and at-home learning options that WISD will deliver in equitable methods, in accordance with the dates provided above:
- On-campus learning with health and safety protocols in place;
- Synchronous at-home learning (not available at Blue Hole Primary per TEA mandate);
- Asynchronous at-home learning.
The handbook also addresses protocols for situations when a student or staff member displays COVID-19 symptoms; parent and volunteer visits to campus; technology needs; and other topics. Due to the changing nature of the current situation, this handbook will remain a “living” document and your input and suggestions will be considered. If you have specific questions, comments, or input regarding the Handbook, please contact your child’s campus as soon as possible. (Time sensitive!)
Choose the Return to School Option for Your Child(ren)
After reviewing the Return to School Procedures Handbook, WISD asks that our parents/guardians complete the official Choice of Instructional Delivery Method survey for EACH ONE of your children. (Households with four children will submit four surveys, and so on.) We will utilize this information to make informed decisions for our students, staff, and the beginning of school. Please submit your responses to this survey by Wednesday, July 29th. Thank you for your attention to this matter. After submitting your response, if you wish to change the instructional delivery choice for your child prior to August 5th, please contact your child's campus.
