Welcome to Danforth Visual Arts!

I am excited to join the Danforth faculty in my 18th year of teaching art!  It is truly a pleasure and honor to share my love of visual art with our students. I have taught both junior high and high school level art and I am thrilled to be teaching here at Danforth in my home town.  I have a bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with an All-Level Teaching Certification from Texas State University. Teaching has become an opportunity for continuous growth for me as an educator, artist, mother and member of this community.  I seek to encourage a love of learning in my students as I share my passion for teaching and creating art.  Communication and compassion through the realm of artisitc mediums facilitates healthier and more creative individuals of any background and level of education.  I strive to inspire my students to create, problem solve and realize that art is comforting to the soul, builds confidence and can be a life-long creative outlet.
