Degrees and Certifications:

Leslie Campbell - Resource Specialist

I was lucky enough to grow up in Wimberley and I graduated from Wimberley High School in 2002.  I earned my Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Texas State University in 2007.  I then worked with the Department of Family and Protective Services as a Case Worker and Preparation for Adult Living Coordinator up until 2016.  Seeing many of the children and youth struggle through their education while in the foster care system inspired me to become an educator to assist children such as those in their education and hopefully still be an advocate for them on the other side.  It also inspired me to take what I learned from Social Work and adapt and apply it to the classroom setting to better serve our WISD students.

I returned to Wimberley at the end of 2016 to be closer to family.  This gave me the opportunity to return to school for my education certification while I was working as a Special Education Aide at Jacob's Well Elementary during the 2017-2018 school year.

This is my third year teaching as the Special Education Focus teacher and it has been absolutely amazing.  I am so blessed to be back in Wimberley and a part of the JWE and WISD family.
