Howdy!  My name is SueAnna Thomas and I am thrilled to be a part of the Jacob's Well Elementary Ranger family.  Education has been a part of my life, my whole life.  My Grandfather taught in a one room schoolhouse, my mother was a school nurse, my sister is an incredible 5th grade teacher, my brother-in-law is a CTE Coordinator, my father-in-law is a retired superintendent, and next year my niece will be a first year music teacher.  I come to JWE with 29 years of personal experience in education.  I have taught first, second, third, and fourth grade in Crowley, Forney, Las Cruces, Hays, and in Dripping Springs.  I most recently have been Scudder's assistant principal for 6 years where I was Awarded Region 13's Assistant Principal of the Year Award in 2018.

I am a wife, mom, Aggie, sister, aunt, and daughter-in-law.  Brad, my husband of 26 years, is the reason for all the different locations of my teaching jobs!  We have lived in Dripping Springs since 2003 and are here for life.  Rob, our son, is a junior at Texas A&M (whoop!) studying petroleum engineering.  He is more than ready to get back to College Station after his extended spring break and summer.

I believe every child is unique and can learn.  Often the time, process, and resources a child needs to learn are different from their peers.  It is my job as an educator, and a leader at Jacob's Well, to help find the ways, and create the environment, in which every child will feel safe and be able to reach their highest potential academically, socially, and emotionally.  I want children to embrace learning and take risks everyday as we prepare them for the future.  At the same time I want children to be children - allowing them to explore and play is an important part of who they are now and who they will become.  Parents are invited on this incredible journey as families and schools working together is when the magic happens and students achieve their highest potential.

I always have an open door and a listening ear to your ideas of what our school, and you, may need.  Never hesitate to reach out as I sincerely believe it takes all of us to create the best experience for our students, staff, families, and community.  I look forward to an incredible year!
