Dr. Jennifer Cooper, Director of Human Resources
Dr. Cooper joined the WISD team as Director of HR in July 2025. Prior to Wimberley, Dr. Cooper had 18 years of educational experience, with roles as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and most recently, principal of Nimitz Middle School in North East ISD in San Antonio. She was named the 2024 Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) Region 20 Secondary Principal of the Year and serves as a Field Supervisor with Lamar University, mentoring aspiring administrators as they complete their leadership certification.
Dr. Cooper has a Bachelor of Arts in English from The University of Texas at San Antonio and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. She earned her Doctorate in K-12 Leadership in 2025. She’s married to Gary, a proud veteran of the Air Force, and they have two sons - Jared and Jacob.
Dr. Cooper is one of Wimberley ISD’s Title IX administrators that attended Eichelbaum Wardell Hansen Powell & Muñoz P.C.’s “2025 Texas Title IX Administrator Conference.” Materials from this conference in compliance with Section 106.45(b)(10)(i)(D) of the regulations can be found here.
Sheri Leonardis, Human Resources Specialist
Sheri Leonardis serves as the HR Specialist for Wimberley ISD, bringing a strong background in business along with experience in fraud, investigations, and security. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Angelo State University and joined the district in 2021. Sheri is known for her warm, approachable nature and her genuine commitment to taking care of employees. She always makes time to support and assist others.
Outside of work, Sheri is a proud mom of two sons, loves being a grandmother to her wonderful grandson, and is also a proud dog mom to Maverick. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors and anything that involves being on or near the water.
Aaricka Cabral, District Receptionist/Security Monitor
Aaricka Cabral serves as the District Receptionist and Security Monitor for Wimberley ISD, where she is often the first friendly face to welcome visitors and support staff and students. She brings an extensive background in emergency medical services, including experience in leadership roles, which has equipped her with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced environments.
Aaricka is known for her efficiency, out-of-the-box thinking, and her natural ability to connect with others. She truly has never met a stranger. She enjoys being actively involved in community events and building meaningful relationships across the district. Aaricka is married to her husband, Tom, and is a proud mom of two children who attend Wimberley ISD.
