In the spring of 2026, she was recognized as the Educator of the Year by the Shiner Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Turek’s experience also includes time as Interim Superintendent and Principal at Sweet Home ISD, roles as both Principal and Assistant Principal at Gonzales ISD, and stints as Principal at multiple schools in Houston. She began her career as an English-Language Arts teacher and also served as an instructional specialist prior to serving as a campus administrator.

She and her husband Michael have one son, Cam.

Errin Jennings, Director of Teacher Support and Student Growth

Errin Jennings was appointed as the Director of Teacher Support and Student Growth in June 2026 after spending one year as an Assistant Principal at Wimberley HS. Prior to her time at WHS, she accumulated more than 20 years of educational experience, most recently serving as the Director of Curriculum & Instruction at Luling ISD. She has also served as the Academic Dean at Canyon Lake High School and worked at both Dripping Springs High School and Dripping Springs Middle School. Mrs. Jennings has a wealth of experience in the areas of instructional leadership, data-informed decision making, and supporting teachers through coaching and professional development.

Mrs. Jennings and her husband Perry, a WHS graduate, have a daughter who currently attends WHS.

In her role as Director of Teacher Support and Student Growth, Mrs. Jennings will be responsible for providing districtwide campus support - to both teachers and campus leaders. The role will lead and coordinate multiple initiatives that are either brand new to WISD, like the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA), and systems that have undergone massive changes by the state in recent years, such as the TEA accountability system, the STAAR assessments, and the College, Career, Military Readiness (CCMR) measurement.

With new programs and increased state requirements created over the past several years, the creation of this position will help bridge an existing gap and enhance WISD’s ability to achieve the important goals outlined in the district's strategic plan.
