The Wimberley Texan Athletics Hall of Honor was launched in 2025 as a way to celebrate the legacy of excellence, dedication, and sportsmanship that defines Texan Athletics. Established to recognize outstanding athletes, coaches, teams, and community members who have made a lasting impact on Texan sports, the Hall of Honor serves as a tribute to those who have shaped the proud tradition at Wimberley High School. Their achievements, both on and off the field, continue to inspire future generations of Texans to strive for greatness and uphold the values of hard work, perseverance, and community pride.
Qualification for Induction
Hall of Honor Inductees can come from the following categories:
- Athletes
- Coaches/Athletic Trainers
- Teams
- Other individuals who have made significant contributions to Wimberley ISD Athletics
Athletes
- The nominee must be a graduate of Wimberley High School.
- The nominee must have made a significant contribution to Wimberley Athletics.
- The nominee must have participated in a sanctioned UIL sport.
- The nominee must have been of good moral character and conducted themselves in such a way as to reflect honor to the school. The nominee must have exhibited those qualities of character and standards of conduct during and after high school, consistent with their status as a role model to the community.
- The nominee must be a minimum of 10 years removed from graduating from Wimberley High School.
- Individual state champions will be automatically considered once they have reached the 10 year threshold.
Coaches/Athletic Trainers
- Nominees must have coached/trained a minimum of 5 years at WISD.
- Nominees must have made a positive impact on the lives of the student athletes while employed with WISD.
- Nominees must have demonstrated continued success on the field and in the classroom while employed with WISD.
- Other factors to consider: longevity, honors, peer recognition, balance among sports, and team accomplishments.
Teams
- Teams must have made a considerable postseason run while upholding the high standards of performance, character, and teamwork that are expected of a Texan team.
- State championship teams will be automatically considered once they have reached the 10-year threshold.
Contributors
- Individuals who have made a significant contribution to the Wimberley ISD athletic program including time, talent, support or funding to enhance the overall program.
- Candidates shall include but are not limited to teachers, administrators, athletic trainers, announcers, sports writers, school patrons and WISD staff.

There are two ways to nominate worthy Texans for the Hall of Honor. Nominators can fill out the digital form linked below, or print out the paper form (also linked below) and mail it in.
