Doug Warren, Athletic Director/Head Football Coach
Doug Warren has been at Wimberley ISD since 2006 and has been the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach since 2013. Prior to his time in Wimberley, Coach Warren was an assistant football coach at two other high schools in Texas, spending 11 years at Littlefield and six at Glen Rose.
As head coach of the Texans, Warren has compiled a record of 107-44 over 11 seasons, a 71% winning percentage. He has guided the Texans to two 4A state championship appearances (2019, 2022) and three other trips to the 4A state semifinals (2017, 2020, 2023). He served as the team's offensive coordinator during the 2011 state championship season.
A 1985 graduate of Lamesa High, Warren was the school’s quarterback before earning his degree from Angelo State.
Lacey Lambert, Girls Athletic Coordinator
Lacey Lambert has been at Wimberley ISD since 2013, and serves as the head cross country coach and girls track and field coach in addition to her Girls Coordinator duties.
A graduate of Wimberley HS, Lambert attended Tarleton State University where she received a Bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Studies and competed in volleyball and track and field for the Texans. In 2023, Lambert was inducted into the Tarleton Athletics Hall of Fame.
Coach Lambert teaches Child Development and Lifetime Nutrition and Wellness at WHS and is married to WHS coach and teacher Wesley Lambert. They have four children who attend WISD schools.
