Wesley Lambert, Athletic Director/Head Football Coach
In May 2025, Coach Lambert was named the sixth Head Football Coach in Wimberley High School history. He has been with WISD since 2011 and served as the Defensive Coordinator for the Texans for eight seasons (2017-2024).
During his time with the Texans, Coach Lambert has been a part of a coaching staff that has led Texan teams to one state championship, two state finals, and four other state semifinals appearances. He has twice been named a 4A-Region 8 Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) Assistant Coach of the Year (2024, 2025). In addition to his duties in football, Coach Lambert has spent 14 years coaching long and triple jumpers in track and field. Texan jumpers have won two golds, one silver, and three bronze medals at the state track and field meet under Coach Lambert’s tutelage.
Coach Lambert graduated from Ganado (TX) High School, and then was a four-year letterman in football at Angelo State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. He and his wife Lacey, a WHS graduate who is also a teacher/coach at WHS, have four children who attend Wimberley schools.
Lacey Lambert, Girls Athletic Coordinator
Lacey Lambert has been at Wimberley ISD since 2013, and serves as the head cross country coach and girls track and field coach in addition to her Girls Coordinator duties.
A graduate of Wimberley HS, Lambert attended Tarleton State University where she received a Bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Studies and competed in volleyball and track and field for the Texans. In 2023, Lambert was inducted into the Tarleton Athletics Hall of Fame.
Coach Lambert teaches Child Development and Lifetime Nutrition and Wellness at WHS and is married to WHS coach and teacher Wesley Lambert. They have four children who attend WISD schools.
