P-3 Anonymous Reporting System: Say Something, Do Something

WISD Families,

As an update to our earlier email message, please be aware that the student who posted the suspicious information has been detained and is being evaluated by the Hay’s County Sheriff’s Department. The student will not be back on campus.

We appreciate the prompt response from our campus School Resource Officers, administration and Hays County Sheriff’s deputies and Constable’s Office.

This serves as a good reminder of the importance of our reporting system along with student’s speaking out and notifying teachers and administrators about what they see on social media. In this case, the report was made on our P-3 platform and also reported to the WHS principal. Students shared posts they thought sounded disturbing with teachers and the administration.

We commend our students, parents and staff for stepping up and saying something immediately. As a reminder, please use the P-3 Reporting system as an anonymous way to alert the School Resource Officers and the District. And again, if you see something, say something and do something.

We look forward to seeing everyone at school tomorrow.

Thank you.

Dwain York, WISD Superintendent of Schools
