Dey is taking on some important initiatives at WISD, keeping the public informed about bond projects, launching a new website and new logo, writing grants and creating a communication strategy that will assure we are all promoting our school district in a cohesive voice. Dey comes to WISD with more than 25 years of experience as a communicator, most recently as the Corporate Communications Ofﬁcer at Broadway Bank where she also inaugurated a new position, taking on the role of social media manager and as the creative source for content on the website, eblasts, advertisements and videos. Her signature project at the bank was the annual Stuff The Bus event which brought in nearly 3,000 pounds of school supplies for San Antonio students in need. She also has extensive experience in successfully harvesting and writing grants for schools. A native Spanish speaker, Dey also offers expertise in writing and communicating in Spanish. She completed her internship at KENS 5 News in San Antonio and worked as a news anchor and reporter for TV stations in Texas and North Carolina. Dey holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Texas A&M University with minors in Speech Communication and Spanish. She and her husband, Abraham, a retired U.S. Army Veteran, recently returned to their home here in Wimberley. Their youngest child, Adan, is an 8th grader at Danforth Junior High. They enjoy ﬁshing in the Blanco River and exercising in the beautiful outdoor areas of the Wimberley Valley. Their daughter, Sophia is a graduate of Wake Forest University and lives and works in Charlotte, North Carolina and their older son, Noah, is a second generation Aggie—a freshman at Texas A&M University.
