This year I am excited about transitioning from a classroom teacher to my new role on the campus administration team.   I  joined the WHS staff in August of 2012 and have served as a teacher in Pre-AP English I & II, English Language & Composition, as well as UIL Academic Coordinator.  I am a graduate of Texas State University at San Marcos, where I received my B.A. in Liberal Arts with a major in English and teaching certification.  Additionally, I received my Master’s in Educational Leadership from Sul Ross State University in 2017.

I have taught English for over twenty years, departing briefly from WHS to gain experience in administration. I served as the Assistant Principal at Plum Creek Elementary in Lockhart, Texas.   My objective is to provide students with a safe and nurturing environment.  I truly enjoy working with high school students because of their endless potential; each day becomes an opportunity to create a path to success.

As for my own journey, I grew up in Lockhart, Texas, as the oldest of three daughters to my parents, Frank and Patsy.  I married Kelly Parker in 1995 and became a coach’s wife.  We are a football family, having taught in the communities of Lockhart, Del Rio, Paris, and Hutto.  We joined the Wimberley Texan football family in 2013, and our daughter Kacey graduated from WHS in 2017 and is currently attending Texas State University.  Additionally, our daughter Gabby graduated from Texas State University and is currently living in Austin, Texas.

I look forward to working with students, parents, and other educators to continue to uphold a tradition of excellence at Wimberley High School.
