Moises Santiago, Chief Financial Officer
Moises Santiago joins Wimberley ISD with more than 12 years of experience in finance, payroll, investment portfolios, budgeting and personnel management. Moises most recently worked as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District where he served as financial advisor to the superintendent and board of directors, managed a $6 million federal grants budget, oversaw the Transportation and Food Service Departments, and prepared and managed a $46 million general operating budget.
The Wimberley Independent School District (WISD) Business Support Service Department is responsible for the management of district funds and fiscal operations. WISD's annual budget is used for salaries, instructional supplies, facilities maintenance and various other expenditures.Business Support Services functions include: Accounting, Accounts Payable & Receivable, Budget, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Investments, Payroll, Purchasing, and Risk Management. Transportation, Child Nutrition, Custodial, and Maintenance & Operations also fall under this division.Business Support Services offices are located at the WISD Adminsitration Building. Services include:
• PEIMS (Public Education Information Management System)Although Wimberley ISD’s fiscal year does not begin until Sept. 1, planning for each year’s budget starts early in the calendar year. After applying the state’s current public education funding formulas, the Business Office develops a budget and determines how the available funding will be used to support the district’s mission.
