Ms. Tammie Sedam - Intervention
My name is Tammie Sedam. The students know me as Ms.S. I graduated Southwest Texas in May of 1989 with a specialization in reading. I knew when I was 10 years old that I wanted to be a teacher. I have been teaching since 1989. Before moving to Wimberley, I taught in Houston. In 1992 I earned a certificate in ESL and began working with students that spoke more than one language. My first year, 18 of my 21 first graders spoke another language with twelve different languages being represented. That was one of my most rewarding years as an educator. I still love watching a student's face when they learn something new.
This is my 13th year to teach in Wimberley. Before teaching here, most of my experience was with first and second grade. Working in Wimberley has given me an opportunity to work with students starting in pre-k all the way through fifth grade. Each grade has its own challenges but many rewards. Another new and wonderful experience I have had teaching here is watching my students grow and become amazing adults.
My daughter recently graduated from Wimberley High school and is about to start her second year at Lubbock Christian University. Because of all the college credits she earned while attending Wimberley High School, she is considered a Junior this semester and will be applying to nursing school this fall. My son attends Wimberley High School and is in 11th grade. He is a trainer and just got his driver's license.
