Stephen Wisdom, Head Coach

My name is Stephen Wisdom and I teach Algebra 2.  I have been teaching and coaching for 24 years.  This is my 4th year at Wimberley High School where I also coach football and baseball.  I feel coming to WISD is the greatest professional decision I’ve made.  I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin.  I have a wonderful wife and four great sons and I am happy to say that we now live in Wimberley!  When I am not working, I love to spend time with my family camping, hunting (preferably for quail), fishing (preferably for bass or fly fishing for trout), and snow skiing.

I was born and raised in Austin Tx, but my family moved here to Wimberley when I was in 8th grade so I feel like I grew up here in Wimberley. I graduated from WHS in 2007, lettered in Football, Basketball, and Baseball and received academic honors throughout my time here along with an Academic All-State nomination my senior year. I was part of the 2005 State Championship Football Team during my junior year and am proud to say that I was part of the most athletically successfull class in Wimberley history.

I went on to pursue a baseball scholarship at Schreiner University and graduated with a degree in Sport Management in 2011.

After my baseball career I decided to follow my families footsteps and become a Teacher/Coach. After I finished my certifications I was given an opportunity to teach PE for Dripping Springs ISD. Shortly after my first year there I received phone calls from former teacher/coaches here at WISD and could not resist the urge to come back home.

Teaching/Coaching is my passion and it is a privelage to be able to practice my profession here amongst the best people in the entire state.
