Degrees and Certifications:
Jason made the decision to go into education as a high school student at Needville High School, his alma mater. He continued this path during undergraduate studies at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. He graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in exercise and sport studies with a biology minor. He earned a Master of Education in 2000 and an educational administration certification in 2002 from Tarleton as well. Before coming to Wimberley, Jason worked as a science teacher and a coach at Glen Rose Junior High for four years. He moved to Wimberley to pursue a four-year career teaching biology and coaching football, powerlifting and track at Wimberley High School. He worked as the assistant principal at the junior high from 2006 to 2007, high school assistant principal from 2007 to 2008, junior high principal from 2008 to 2014 and now as WHS principal. “I appreciate and look forward to working with the students, parents, and faculty of Wimberley High School.” When not in school, Jason enjoys spending time with his wife, Carrie, their 15-year old daughter, Claire and their 9-year old daughter Josie.
