It is with great pleasure that I continue a 30-year career in education in a town that supports students and teachers in and out of the classroom. I ascended to the position of superintendent of WISD in 2007. Prior to this, I served 9 years as the principal of Wimberley High School and one year as assistant principal at Danforth Junior High School. My public education career began in several Eastern New Mexico and West Texas school districts working as a secondary math teacher, head varsity football coach and athletic director. I also served as an adjunct mathematics faculty for three semesters at Cisco Jr. College and four semesters at Amarillo Jr. College. I spent almost two years as a petroleum engineer technician for Texaco and Dorchester Oil Company.
Dwain and his wife, Teresa, have three daughters, two of whom are graduates of Wimberley High School, Teresa is the librarian at Danforth Junior High School.
